Welcome to Term 2!

NAPLAN
Well done to all of our Year 3 students who completed the NAPLAN testing this week. I know you all tried your best and I am very proud of all your efforts
😀

Super Scientist
In Week 5 we will be conducting our Super Scientist Presentations. You would have received a letter outlining all of the details of this and the students have been informed in class as well. Please be reminded that the children are encouraged to take responsibility for their presentations and must come prepared and ready to present on their allocated day. The roster for our presentations will be displayed on our classroom notice board in Week 4.

Design & Technology - Mother’s Day Bookmarks
During Design and Technology this term the students had the task of designing, creating and evaluating a bookmark for their mums. The students absolutely loved this activity and put a lot of effort into designing and creating something very special. We hope you loved them too!

Buddy Class – Numero
On Friday 18th May we met up with our Room 30 buddies to teach them how to play Numero! It was fantastic to see how well all the students were cooperating with each other. I was also impressed with the very clear instructions that were being given to our buddies to make sure they understood how to play. We look forward to our next Buddy Class activity J

STEM Design a Playground Task

During STEM this term we are implementing a playground project. This project requires students to research, design and create a new playground model for the school. Students are required to bring in materials from home to use in their models. Below is a list of some examples of materials that are appropriate. Any other materials your child would like to use in their project are also fine but just ensure that all materials are clean and no sharp objects are included. I am looking forward to seeing the finished projects.

·       Aluminium
·       Cardboard
·       Pipe-cleaners
·       Bottle caps (plastic)
·       Straws
·       Paper Towel Holders
·       String
·       Wood
·       Plastic Cups
·       Stones
·       Wood Chips

Class Assembly Friday 1st June Week 5
We are very busy preparing for our class assembly to be held on Friday 1st June (Week 5). The theme for our assembly is resiliency and we have already been practicing our assembly item, which is coming along nicely. At the beginning of Week 4 some students will be allocated speaking roles and a note will be going out about what to wear on the day.

Thank you

Miss Zaffino
