On Wednesday 22nd
August we travelled to Scitech for our class excursion. We participated in some
amazing activities throughout the day thanks to the very clever Scitech staff.
CSIRO Lab: We
analysed flowers, plants, mealworms and maggots under digital microscopes. We
were even able to take photos of these objects and edit them on the laptops.
Science Theatre: We
watched a show in the Science Theatre which taught us all about energy, including
combustion, transferrable energy and kinetic energy.
Planetarium: We
watched a live video of the night sky and the world around us, seeing up close
images of the planets and space. This was followed by a short film entitled ‘We
are Aliens’.
Amongst all these fantastic
educational opportunities the students were also allocated free time to explore
Scitech and try out all the awesome exhibitions J
